Sweet and fragrant with a hint of almonds, meadowsweet adds great flavour to herbal infusions as well as health benefits. it has traditionally been used for stomach disorders such as heartburn, stomach ulcers and gastritis
To make a meadowsweet flower infusion or tea use one to two teaspoonfuls of dried herb to a cupful of water. Either make as a traditional tea or, to gain maximum strength, place the flowers in a saucepan, pour on the water, cover with a lid and simmer gently for approximately ten minutes before straining.
Recipe suggestions: Add honey and lemon juice to your meadowsweet tea. And use it as an extra flavour when cooking milk based puddings. Just add it to the milk and simmer for 5 minutes before straining
For further information and recommended dosage please consult a qualified herbalist. We suggest no more than three or four cups of tea per day.
